Chester-le-Street Chess Congress Caption Competition
Caption Competition – Winner!
Our esteemed panel of judges (well, the best we could find), Paul Robson and Ihor Lewyk selected Kevin Williamson’s entry as the best caption to fit the picture! Kevin wins either a free entry to the Chester-le-Street Congress or £10 cash!
A close runner-up was Dave Shapland’s submission: “Seriously, my game was so complicated that I chewed the ends off two of my fingers without even noticing! Hurts now mind.”
Some other honourable mentions:
Sean ‘Seamus’ Duffey: I lost two of my fingers in the battle but I have enough to win the war bring on the next game
Paul Dargan: Archer: I’ve started a petition to get the town renamed to Chesster-le-Street. Have another Aspall’s Robbo, and you’ll start to get it.
Matt Turner: It’s grim up north. Ah, but you can still smile by pushing your fingers up like this
Bill Somerset: Record breaking blindfold chess exhibition astonishes with simultaneous eye-spy, charades, and a game of tiddlywinks.
