Has there been an announcement on the winner of this title? I’ve not been on the site that much in the past couple of months and may have missed it but a quick scout around the various pages suggests it hasn’t been published yet?

You’re right, it hasn’t been decided yet but we’ll hopefully be announcing it shortly!

Hopefully this will inspire players to submit games for ‘game of the season’ much earlier this year so we can compile a greater number of entries and announce the winner once the season has ended.

There is actually a YCA best game prize that has long fallen into disuse (and the rules have long vanished from the yearbook – they were there when I first became involved with chess in the late nineties). At the last AGM Ihor stated an intention to revive it; if memory serves there is a cash prize.
