Halifax Chess Club’s Blitz tournament in aid of typhoon Haiyan victims takes place this Sunday the 1st of December.

It’s not too late to help us raise money to support those who’s lives have been devastated by this natural disaster.

The online entry form will be available until midnight on Saturday and last minute entries will also be accepted on the day. Entry fees of £10 will be collected on the day too and every penny of every entry fee will donated to charitable organisations.

The tournament will run over 9 rounds with a time limit of 10 minutes per player for all moves. Round 1 will start promptly at 12 noon so please be sure to arrive at the venue in plenty of time to park, register and pay your entry fee. The prize giving will take place at 3.45pm. Full tournament details can be found on the Hebden Bridge Chess Club website. There are a plethora of prizes to be won with three grading prizes and a junior prize on offer so everyone will have something to play for. Of course the real winners will be the typhoon victims themselves!

Should anyone need to contact the event organisers prior to the event then please call Darwin Ursal on 07973 252 509.
