Welcome to the new Yorkshire Chess Website

Matthew Webb is the inspiration behind the design and he has come up with some excellent and innovative ideas. I keep giving him tasks to tweak the site to make it easier to navigate around. I hope this works for you too but if you have any comments or ideas then please let us know. Matty has put on hold studying the Dutch Leningrad to concentrate on your website, but he says that is probably a blessing!

Our first priority is to ensure the day to day communications of the Yorkshire Chess Association are visible for everyone to see. While you navigate around the site you will see details for all the officials, (About us) clubs and venues. Please take the time to check your own details and let me know if we have anything wrong.

We also envisage the site as an umbrella for all the leagues and clubs in Yorkshire. This way it should be easy for anyone wanting to find out about chess of any kind in Yorkshire. It also means less keying for me if everyone else updates their own bits. If you want us to link to websites for your league, club or congress then please let us have the details and we will be happy to do so. Matty has already started on this but we know there is a long way to go.

There are many ways to contact us. You will see a tab on the right of the main navigation bar that allows you to simply e-mail your comment. Matty has also made it easy for you to follow us on Twitter and Facebook at the bottom of the page. We want the site to be as interactive as possible.

We want you to start this weekend by sending in your Yorkshire league results. If you only send in the score it will be most excellent! If you wish to be a bit more adventurous then please give us a few lines for a brief report of the key games in the match.
