York Junior Chess Congress

The first event of the Yorkshire Junior Grand Prix took place on Saturday 10th October at Archbishop of York’s CE Junior School in York. Organised by the Yorkshire Junior Chess Association, the Grand Prix is a series of events for juniors of all abilities.

YJCA York Prizewinners

The York Junior Congress attracted an impressive 83 entries across four sections. Robert Oxley won the Open after a playoff with Max Littlewood and Holly Jacobson. Matthew Edwards won the Intermediate with 5.5/6 while Joseph Thornber won the Minor with the same score. Ammar Soni won the Novice with a perfect 6/6.
