York A have not won the Woodhouse Cup, the top division of the Yorkshire League for the last two seasons after winning four in a row from 2010-2013. However they are now favourites for this year’s title. After defeating Bradford A, they have maintained their 100% start to the season over the first five rounds. Meanwhile their nearest rivals Sheffield A dropped a draw against Calderdale A and Bradford A are now three points behind the leaders. Today’s puzzle comes from the Calderdale vs Sheffield match.

The IM Brown is extremely competitive. Calderdale B are currently one point ahead of the chasing pack of York RI C, Sheffield B and Rose Forgrove B. Sheffield D have a large lead in the Silver Rook with Leeds CCCC B and West Leeds fighting for the second promotion spot.
