The Four Nations Chess League is the UK’s premier team competition, attracting the best British players as well as some of the world’s elite. It takes place over 11 rounds across five weekends throughout the year.

Yorkshire has two teams in the top division. White Rose 1 have been a fixture there for many seasons but this year they are joined by White Rose 2 for the first time.

In the first round of fixtures, White Rose 1 drew against the solid Blackthorne Russia and won their other match comfortably. The 2nd team faced very strong opposition and lost both matches but fought valiantly in their individual games. See more at www.yorkshirechess.org.
